Aki Sasamoto '04 works in performance, sculpture, and dance. She recently performed at the Gwangju Biennial in South Korea and the Whitney Biennial in New York. With Arturo Vidich, she co-founded Culture Push, a non-profit arts organization in which diverse professionals meet through artist-led projects and cross-disciplinary symposia. Ms. Sasamoto was part of a WESeminar about Performance Art in October 2012. This performance is part of "The Alumni Show II" in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Center for the Arts, which looks back at four decades of Wesleyan artists. Building on "The Alumni Show" held in November/December 2003 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the CFA, the exhibition features an entirely new selection of seventeen alumni artists. Their work spans a broad range of contemporary practice and media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, installation art, video art, performance, and films.
