Microsoft eLearning

Microsoft eLearning allows you to take courses from an entire catalogue of Microsoft applications.  This online tool allows you to customize how you need to learn, including drilling down to specific topics rather than taking a full course.  You need to activate your login only once.  After that, you access your learning by logging into the site.  The system tracks what you have done and keeps the list in a convenient MyLearning location.

As a Microsoft product, the eLearning player only works in Internet Explorer, HOWEVER Wesleyan has developed a solution for Mac users. Contact training@wesleyan.edu to learn how to access a Windows session from your Mac to take advantage of this training.

To gain initial access to the Microsoft E-Learning courses, please follow the steps below: (this process happens only once)

  1. Go to: https://business.microsoftelearning.com/activate/.
  2. Input your multiuse access code. Obtain this code by emailing training@wesleyan.edu. Because the service is restricted to Wesleyan users, the code cannot be published on the public site.
  3. You are prompted to sign in using a valid Windows Live ID. (This is the user name and password you use to access the site each time you log on.) If you already have a profile on microsoft.com (HotMail or MSN Messenger), you can use that Windows Live ID if you wish. ** If not, you need to create a Windows Live ID. The verification email for this ID needs to be clicked to continue this process. It is suggested that you create a Windows Live ID using your Wesleyan email address. Note that the password you choose can match your Wesleyan password, but will not change if you should change your Wesleyan password.
  4. You will receive an e-mail confirming your registration to Windows Live ID.
  5. From the confirmation e-mail, click the link to complete the e-mail confirmation.
  6. You are prompted to sign in using a valid Windows Live ID, once again.
  7. Return to https://business.microsoftelearning.com/, Under Getting Started, click on the activation link. Re-enter the code you obtained.
  8. A confirmation page appears indicating that the access code has been accepted (or you may receive an error message if the code was not accepted).
  9. Click the My Learning link to see list of available courses.
  10. Click a course title to launch the offering. You have 12 months from the time of launch to finish that course.

To access your course at any time after activation, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to: https://business.microsoftelearning.com/.
  2. Click the "Sign In" button in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Sign in to Windows Live using your Windows Live ID and password. Click the My Learning Catalog link on the left side of the page under Customer Login.
  4. Begin your E-Learning course.

If you have any questions regarding your access code, you may e-mail or phone our support center. To view a list of support phone numbers, please visit https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/ and click the Support/Feedback link.

If you experience any problems with your E-Learning training, please contact the regional support center in your region at http://www.microsoft.com/learning/support/worldsites.mspx.

Please note that the access code we have received from Microsoft can accommodate a limited number of users from our organization. Do not share the code with unauthorized users. This is not permitted under our license agreement with Microsoft.
