Upward Bound Math & Science

The Upward Bound Math-Science Program is designed to help low-income and first-generation college students recognize and develop their potential, to excel in math and science, pursue post secondary degrees, and ultimately careers in the math and science professions.  Activities, trips, and involvement are designed to help students become more familiar with S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering Math) education.

After - School Tutoring

Tutoring is a great way to reinforce what you are learning and is REQUIRED for students with a 2.5 GPA or lower.

After school tutoring every Wednesday and Thursday ( 2:30 - 5:00 ) at the Upward Bound Math / Science Office on 41 Lawn Ave., ( Wesleyan University Campus ). The tutoring runs from  Wednesday, September 17, 2014 -  Friday, June 5, 2015.  Our van driver will transport the UBMS students from Platt, Maloney and New Britain High School.

Trio Day In February

Women in Science

Wesleyan Women in Science aims to both build a sense of community among women of science and their supporters and to foster love for the sciences on and off campus. Date to be announced.

Let's Get Ready SAT Prep

 Let's Get Ready is a national nonprofit  that provides free SAT tutoring and college counseling.The orientation session for students and family will be in February the date will be announced. Classes will meet on  Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 - 8:30. Students will spend two hours working on SAT Prep and one hour on their college applications: learning how to apply and how to be a good appplicant and writing their Common APP essay. The classes are small, therefore the students get the individual attention that is so important.
