Looking to donate your valuable time and help make a difference in the lives of youth? Then we have the opportunity for you! Below are volunteer and job opportunities with the Upward Bound and Pre-Collegiate Programs Office's programs that serve elementary, middle, and high school students.

Upward Bound Opportunities

The Upward Bound Program is always looking for volunteers to help high school seniors write essays/personal statements, complete college applications, assist with scholarship searches and complete financial aid applications. We also have paid opportunities for Wesleyan University work-study students to serve as tutors, teachers, and facilitators during Saturday workshops, with activities ranging from academic classes to study skills workshops. Upward Bound Math-Science Opportunities

The Upward Bound Math-Science Program is always looking for volunteers to help lead small groups of students in math or science activities or seniors with their college application process. We also has paid opportunities for Wesleyan University work-study students to serve as tutors, facilitators, and teachers during Saturday workshops, with activities ranging from math/science classes to language arts instruction. The program also regulary needs tutors to help students after-school in various subjects. Prospect Math/Science Opportunities

The Prospect Math/Science Program is looking for volunteers (paid opportunities for Weselyan University work-study students) to lead a small group of 6th-8th grade students in math, science, foriegn language, or language arts activities. Prospect workshops are held the second Saturday of each month on Weselyan's campus. You will be given curriculum guides and team leaders will provide you with instruction. Ascend Opportunities

The Ascend Program is looking for tutors to assist students with homework assignments and play educational games that increase acadmeic skills and encourage creativity. Tutors will also be asked to design an enrichment project based on one of his/her own extracurricular or academic interests to present to the group. Once a year, Ascend students visit Wesleyan's campus so tutors might be asked to serve as tour guides.
