All WSA
recognized student groups can obtain free assistance in using technology from the
WSA-funded WESUNITY technology assistants.
Who are they?
The technology assistants are students with specialized technological skills who are
willing to share their knowledge with student groups.
What can they help my group with?
So far, we have found helpers who are proficient in creating webpages, doing graphic
design in PhotoShop, and able to help groups set up listserves and email accounts.
We are currently looking for students to help set up webservers so that student groups can
have more complex and dynamic webpages than ITS will permit. We are also looking for
students with experience in layout and publishing. The Hermes has expressed interest in helping other
student organizations produce publications. Want to get paid to help student groups
use technology? Email wesunity@wesleyan.edu.
How to get help
Simple, email wesunity@wesleyan.edu with your
group name and what you would like help with. We want to train activists in using
technology rather than doing projects for activists. Now's your chance to
gain valuable skills at no cost to you. Later in the semester we will post our
drop-in hours, where you can find a consultant without having to make an appointment.
How to help us
We would like to upgrade and purchase new computers for the WSA office so as not to have
to rely on computer labs (which are often full). We will need donated computers and
computer parts from students, and may need student groups to help us raise money and write
grants. In exchange for assistance, student groups will receive guaranteed computer
time with assistants beyond what is normally available. We also need your interest
in the project to justify the expense to our student government, so get trained today!
Email wesunity@wesleyan.edu and help
your group use technology to strengthen your campaigns.
