All WSA
recognized student groups are offered 5 megabytes of webspace by ITS.
Group Web Accounts
Purpose: Put your group on the Internet! A webpage is an easy
way to introduce people in your campaigns, keep interested alumni updated, make your
presence known to other schools, and to store information from year to year.
How to obtain: email pleone@wesleyan.edu
with your group name and a 6digit password.
How to use: Never designed a webpage before? Not to
worry. You don't even need to know HTML. The basics: you need an FTP program
to get files you create onto the web, and you need an HTML editor to create the webpages.
Recommendation: download CuteFtp and Macromedia's Dreamweaver. ITS
does provide a free FTP program, and Microsoft Word and Netscape Communicator (open up
Composer) can edit .html files. Here is ITS's
page on creating web documents. Here is ITS's page of free software.
Wesleyan web policy: No porn, mp3's and the like. Read more here. If you want your
page listed with all the other group pages, email pleone@wesleyan.edu.
Make sure you have this info on your main page:
the University name or logo
group name
e-mail or phone number
link to Wesleyan Web site (http://www.wesleyan.edu)
date of last update
Having trouble? Wesunity is here to help YOU! Email wesunity@wesleyan.edu with your problem, and we'll
help get you online and make your page just how you want it.
