Can advisors participate in the training?

This training weekend is designed to train student peer educators, not advisors. Advisors may choose to attend the training to observe how to facilitate the training themselves in the future ("train-the-trainer") but are discouraged from taking an active role in discussions, role-playing, etc. so students receive the greatest benefit. Advisors must pay the full registration fee in order to cover meal and materials costs.

Available for purchase from the BACCHUS Network, the CPE Training Kit is designed so that any advisor with some basic facilitation or workshop presentation skills can train their own students. A facilitator’s guide of over 200 pages guides the trainer through a series of interactive exercises, role-plays with discussions, and lectures on key topics. A program DVD contains ready-to-use Power Point presentations outlining each module. Embedded into the Power Points are role-plays and demonstrations to generate discussions and aide participants in learning important skills.
