Class Description
This one-hour Pilates class will focus on the traditional core work that
is the foundation of Pilates as well as on flexibility and stamina
(translation: lots of ab work. Be excited). Proper alignment of the
neutral spine and safe techniques will be emphasized. Plan on getting a
great workout, sore muscles, and fabulous abs! Please bring a yoga mat
or towel and wear comfy clothes.
Level: Beginner-Intermediate
The class is intended for those with little to moderate familiarity with
Pilates. Modifications and variations to increase or decrease difficulty
will be provided. The class will increase in difficulty over the course
of the semester as students gain strength and stamina.
Instructor Bio
Sarah La Rue is a junior art history and French major with an extensive
dance background. She was certified to teach Mat Level I Pilates in the
summer of 2008 through PHI Pilates. This is her first time teaching a
full series of Pilates classes, but she is super excited to share her
knowledge of movement, muscles, and mad abs with the Wesleyan community!
