What Is Zumba?

Instructor Biography
Jesse Jacobson '13 (jajacobson@wesleyan.edu) is a junior Anthropology/Psychology double major. Two summers
ago, in an ongoing effort to boost his physical well-being, he wandered
into a Zumba class in Seattle, and has never grumpily set foot on a
treadmill since. This past summer, he underwent the Zumba Instructor
Training in the hopes of sharing with the world what has transformed the
way he and so many others view exercise--as an exciting, fun activity
that need not be dreaded.
Jesse has been dancing in informal capacities for many years. He has
been an avid listener of hip-hop, and an all-around goofball, since
infancy.
