Mission
WesWELL, the Office of Health Education, is the division of
Wesleyan
University's Health Services. Our mission is to promote mindfulness and
responsibility in all areas of health and wellness in order to prevent
disease, injury and other health problems. We encourage
good health of mind, body and spirit by helping members of the Wesleyan
community, particularly students, connect with resources and gain knowledge
that will aid in the enhancement of their well-being, encourage
self-discovery, and support their intellectual proficiency and academic
success.
The staff of WesWELL strives to fulfill this mission by:
-
offering evidence-based educational
outreach programs and
awareness activities, often in collaboration with student organizations
or other campus departments and offices
-
supporting student events with co-sponsorship of events, financial backing from
the HealthFull Words Fund, program planning advice,
as well as training resources, and
other educational materials
-
sponsoring Non-credit Classes
for personal enrichment
-
providing referrals to other health resources from
A
to Z
-
maintaining an extensive
Resource
Library and providing
safer sex
supplies at no charge
and
-
serving on various University committees, such as the
Alcohol and other Drugs Committee and the
Student Health Advisory
Committee, to advocate for changes in campus policies and procedures
which promote the creation of a healthier campus environment.

"Wellness must be a
prerequisite to all else.
Students cannot be intellectually proficient if they are
physically
and psychologically unwell."
