Mission
WesWell, the Office of Health
Education, is an integral part of
Wesleyan University's Health Services.
WesWell understands the impact of student health on academic performance and
is committed to providing services that are designed to develop healthy
behaviors and prevent health concerns that may interfere with academic and
personal success.
WesWell's Mission in
Action:
Health initiatives are
evidence-informed, based on Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in
Higher Education and data collected from Wesleyan University students.
The staff of WesWell strives to fulfill
this mission by providing services that include:

programs and outreach to
promote positive health behaviors and provide educational information on
various topics, including body image, stress, sexual assault, sexual
health, sleep, nutrition, and alcohol and other drugs
-
support and advocate for
changes in campus policies and procedures which promote the creation of
a healthier campus environment

coordinate the Peer Health
Advocate program
-
Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD)
prevention, including coordinating the AOD committee, AlcoholEdu
implementation, AOD education and support opportunities for AOD
alternatives on campus
-
support student events with
co-sponsorship, financial backing from the Healthful Words Fund, program
planning help, as well as training resources, and other educational
materials
-
assess the health status of
students by conducting research, data collection and analysis

provide a Health
Information Resource Library

Sexual assault response and
prevention, including coordinating the Sexual Assault Response Team,
consent education, and bystander intervention trainings and programs
-
provide referrals to other
health resources
