For Residential Life Staff Members

In addition to the extensive information found elsewhere on this site, WesWELL has compiled the following health education resources specifically for the student staff of Residential Life. Please contact the staff if you have any questions on these resources.

Consultations & Referrals
Concerned about a resident or a friend? Need to know more about a particular health issue? Talk to a WesWELL staff member to discuss what options and resources are available for you. Stop by or call to make an appointment. Information on judicial referrals to WesWELL can be found here.

Educational Materials
If your event addresses a health issue in any way, consider providing a bulletin board, brochures and handouts related to your topic. WesWELL can provide quantities of these materials from our Resource Library (Room 204, Davison Health Center) to assist participants in taking a health issue to the personal level. Or borrow a video to create an instant educational discussion! Click here to learn more about what is available in the WesWELL Resource Library.

Games
If you would like to offer board or card games at your event, WesWELL can loan you just a few or a big bin full. Contact WesWELL to arrange for checkout.

Ideas for Healthy Snacks
If the Doritos and soda aren't cutting it anymore with your residents at Snacks or your programs, then check out "Keeping Snacks Healthier", a compilation of ideas, recipes and resources to help make those treats healthier for your residents.

Meeting Space
The Solarium, located on the 2nd floor of the Davison Health Center, offers a bright, comfortable space for small gatherings. Seating for eight to ten at a conference table is available for meetings; a white board is mounted to the wall and wireless access is available. For informal discussions, two couches and several soft chairs are at the other end of the room. A TV/VCR/DVD unit can also be provided upon request. This space can be reserved via Virtual EMS by clicking on "Room Request" in your e-portfolio. Alternately, contact Joyce Walter at jwalter@wseleyan.edu or 860.685.2656.

Mocktail Recipes & Blenders
Looking for great alcohol-free drinks to serve at your event? We've got you covered with dozens of recipes for "virgin" cocktails that taste great. Click here to download the file. Need a blender in which to concoct those mocktails? WesWELL owns several smoothie blenders which we can loan out to students. Email weswell@wesleyan.edu to arrange for checkout.

Safer Sex Supplies
Residence Life staff members may pick up ready-made bags of safer sex supplies for their residents from WesWELL whenever the Davison Health Center is open. Look for the big red box in the WesWELL library (Room 204)! Click here to check out what WesWELL offers for safer sex supplies.

Workshops
Looking for a presenter for a workshop on a health issue? WesWELL can be of assistance, whether you wish a WesWELL staff member to present or are seeking a referral to an outside facilitator.  Read more about this resource at Workshops.
