TO SUBMIT A MANUSCRIPT

The deadline for manuscript submission is MAY 10, 2010.
Faculty members will read a limited number of manuscripts. If you would like to have a manuscript consultation, register promptly. Later, send a representative sample of your work in one genre; ten poems, the first chapters of a novel (plus an outline or summary); or several short stories or nonfiction pieces. Please do not send more than 25 pages of material.

Send two copies of your manuscript. We will forward one copy to your reader and hold the other for your arrival. Address manuscripts to: Anne Greene, Wesleyan Writers Conference, Wesleyan University, 294 High Street, Room 207, Middletown, CT  06459.

TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP OR FELLOWSHIP
Applications for Scholarships and Fellowships must reach us by APRIL 2, 2010.

Scholarships are awarded competitively, and applicants are judged on the basis of promise shown in their work. Entries should consist of a work in one genre: fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. Several scholarships provide full tuition, room, and board, but most offer smaller awards, covering a part of the Conference tuition.

Several teaching fellowships are available and are awarded to outstanding applicants who have completed book-length manuscripts.

To apply, please submit (1) the registration form, (2) a representative sample of your work in one genre, and (3) a letter of application explaining your experience and interests and (4) a resume.

You need not send a deposit with your fellowship or scholarship materials. If you are certain you will attend the Conference, however, do send the $75 deposit and registration form immediately, before completing the rest of your application. The deposit guarantees you a place at the Conference if you should not win an award.
