The Writing Workshop also provides many
resources for non-native English speakers:
Non-Native speakers are encouraged to
meet with Writing Workshop tutors during their office hours about the
phrasing and structure of their academic essays either by making an
appointment or visiting drop-in sessions. Informal English conversation
hours can also be arranged.
Students seeking more help with English language issues should contact the
Writing Program's specialist, Alice Hadler. Faculty and faculty advisors
who have students with language and/or related cultural issues may also
contact Alice Hadler, or urge their students to do so. Alice Hadler will
help identify issues, arrange individual tutorials, set up regular
contacts with the Ford Fellows in the Writing Workshop, or arrange a
writing mentor. She also teaches courses that are designed appropriate for
non-native or bilingual English speakers.
