Wesleyan University Cricket Club Constitution
PREAMBLE
After a successful first season, the organizational machinery of the Wesleyan University Cricket Club will be overhauled in accordance with the new framework that is being recommended in this Constitution. This will allow every member of the club to have equal responsibilities in the day to day affairs of the club and leave enough room for discussion and change. The goal of the club remains unchanged - to continue to promote the game of cricket, at both recreational and professional levels, by organizing several internal games and a finite number of matches against regional opposition. The basic organization of the club and the broad purpose it will serve in the coming years will still be in accordance with the original statement of purpose (Fall, 1999).

The Treasurer will authorize any new equipment purchase and collect all relevant receipts for reimbursement. The Treasurer must be a current Wesleyan undergraduate who played in at least four matches in the previous season. The Treasurer will be appointed by the new President and his appointment will be confirmed by a simple majority vote at the season-opening meeting.

He will forward invitations for matches to the President for approval. Once approved, the responsibility for organizing the match will be handed over to the two members in charge during the week of the proposed match. The Secretary, with the approval of the President, will invite other teams for home games and hand over the responsibility for organizing the match to the two members in charge during the week of the proposed match.
