Sarah Pradka '04
Sarah Pradka grew up on the rugged slopes of Durham, NC. She got her
athletic
start on the Woodcroft Country Club swim team, where she consistently finished
her laps. In Middle and High school, Sarah developed into an athletic dynamo,
focusing primarily on bocce ball, interpretive dance, and long-distance jogging
(non-competitive). Sarah easily made the transition to the world of
competitive snow sports, first excelling in gate-keeping, and then in alpine
racing. From her junior year at Wesleyan University, Sarah focused on
the "french fry" technique of downhill skiing, which aided her immensely in the
acquisition of speed. She generally places ahead of at least two to four
competitors in the cutthroat McBrine division. After graduation, Sarah is
looking forward to a semi-professional career on the Snow-Slam USA circuit,
which features a ferocious combination of downhill racing and roller derby. If
one word could best represent the Pradka essence, that word would be
bloodthirsty.
