- Attend an anti-primate
experimentation demonstration at Yale Medical School (Sept
1st).
- Table for World
Farm Animals Day ( Oct
2nd).
- Host a speaker from Jews for
Animal Rights, speaking on Judaism
and vegetarianism, Roberta
Kalechofsky (Oct 8th).
- Give presentations
on vegetarianism and veganism at dorms (Oct 21st-Butt A, Oct
28th-Hewitt 10).
- Attend anti-Ringling Brothers'
Circus
demonstrations in
Bridgeport, CT (Oct 24th and 27th)
- Chalk and have a demonstration
against vivesection and pro-vegetarianism on Halloween (Oct 31st)
in front of the Campus Center and the Science Center where we
dress in costumes lent to us by PETA.
- Show the Texas
Chainsaw Massacre on
Halloween (Oct 31st) because the film discusses vegetarianism,
slaughterhouses and the bad guys are butchers.
- Hold a concert and lecture for
singer/songwiter Dana
Lyons with E3 ( Nov
1st).
- Dress up in the PETA costumes
from Halloween and give out literature before and during
Homecoming/Parents' Weekend football game (Nov 3rd).
- Thanksgiving Campaign
- Show
the film "Babe" during Reading Week
- Have discussion hours on Sunday
afternoons where WARN members read and discuss animal
rights/liberation articles so we can further our own knowledge of
these issues. The
first article is: "Dismantling
Oppression: an analysis between women and animals" written by
Prof. Lori Gruen.
Semester 2
- Have a Boycott
Procter and Gamble Week
during which we will show a documentary, table at the campus
center and WEShop and distribute literature at Mocon.
- Hold a Try
Veg Day in front of the
campus center at which we distribute free vegan food.
- Host Eric
Marcus, author of "Vegan:
The New Ethics of Eating" (Tuesday, April 9th)
- Have Philosophy Prof. Lori Gruen
give a lecture on animal related issues.
- Have some members attend
Liberation
Now: The National Student Animal Rights
Conference.

- Have an education campaign about
why Free-Range products still cause unnecessary suffering.
- Give a 20 minute presentation of
fur farming for the Socially Responsible Investment Coalition
because Wesleyan invests in Federated Dept. Stores, the owner of
Macy's the largest fur seller.
- Write
Hermes Articles debating Animal Rights vs. Animal Liberation.
- Show
the film "The
Witness."
Ongoing
- Write weekly letters to various
companies and politicians regarding animal rights/liberation
issues.
- Post WARN
Weekly Facts every
week.
- Work with Aramark and E3 to get
better labeling of food at campus eateries, to expand the
selection of vegetarian and vegan options, and to get more
cruelty-free
products at WEShop.
Also have ARAMARK at Wesleyan establish an official anti-veal
position.
- Write a BUNCH of Wespeaks
on animal rights/liberation issues.
- Volunteer at the
Meriden Animal Shelter on
both Sunday and Saturday mornings.
- Work closely with
CAFF,
the Coalition to Abolish Factory Farming.
- Distribute CDs with the
video by PETA, Meet Your Meat, on them.
The video is of graphic slaughterhouse footage and would be
given to people who would like to find out what goes into the
production of their food.
- Attended off-campus circus and
anti-primate experimentation demos off-campus with local
activists..
- Campaign against Animal
Experimentation at
Wesleyan.
- Plan for Wesleyan to be the site
of a Compassionate Living conference next year being organized
largely by local activists. And further networking with local activists.
