The Wesleyan Animal Rights Network (WARN) is
dedicated to furthering the cause of animal rights. Our intent is to make people
aware of the exploitation animals suffer on a societal as well as individual
level. WARN educates people about the cruelties animals are subjected to for
food, clothing, entertainment, or "science", and asks people to
consider the impact their personal choices have on animal welfare.
·concern
for animals’ physical and psychological welfare
·concern for the Earth and all of its inhabitants; by
now we all know that animal
diets are primary contributors to water, land, and air pollution; to
ecological destruction; to the eradication of indigenous food production and
livelihoods; and generally contribute to the maintenance and expansion of a
globalizing economic system that subjects and subjugates all beings of whatever
size to its relentless logic of economic profit
·concern
for health
·concern
for peace, equity, and justice; again, all issues are ultimately related; doing
violence unto others whether it is to people(s), animals, the Earth, or any
other creature is part and parcel of the same system of devaluation, domination,
and exploitation
This
cookbook is an invitation to food lovers of all kinds to consider
eliminating/reducing ingredients of animal origin in their diets.
These recipes (if you like them) are a testimony that food can be
delicious, easy to prepare, aesthetically pleasing to all the senses AND vegan.
A substitute here and there can easily make your favorite
‘traditional’ dish into a vegan dish.
Try it.
