Francisco J. Tezén became a Hermano of La Fraternidad in 1995, when he and five fellow students founded the Sigma Chapter at Wesleyan University. While at Wesleyan, Francisco served as the chapter's president and community service coordinator for two years. Under his tenure, the chapter was able to lay a solid foundation and become a permanent fixture within the university community. Not only was the Sigma Chapter the largest ethnic, Greek letter organization on campus at the time, but also the most active. The chapter was the catalyst for a broad array of programs and activities including: men's discussion groups, job forums, mentorship and tutoring opportunities under their community service program, as well as sponsorship of speakers, panels and forums on issues and topics confronting Latinos into the millennium.

In addition to La Fraternidad, Francisco was an active leader and participant in a number of student groups and activities including Ajua Campos, the Latino students association, the Ethnic Studies Committee, and advocating for the freedom of political prisoners. While maintaining an active role in campus life, Francisco focused on achieving his academic goals and was a National Merit Scholar throughout his four years at Wesleyan.

Francisco graduated from Wesleyan University in May 1997 with a B.A. degree in both History and Latin American Studies. Since graduation, Francisco has been employed within the nonprofit and education sector.

Recently, he was the Associate Director of Corporate Relations at Columbia Business School, developing innovative partnerships between faculty members and Fortune 500 corporations in areas ranging from e-business and global brand strategy to quality, productivity and competitiveness. In the winter of 2001, Francisco accepted the position of Director of Foundation Relations at the National Alliance of Business, a national nonprofit business organization which serves as the voice of business to improve student performance at all levels K-12, postsecondary and higher education.

Francisco is married to Linda Mercedes Rodriguez, a fellow Wesleyan graduate and Hermana of Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc.
