Welcome

The Wesleyan Debate Team is the recognized student organization dedicated to promoting the importance of rhetoric and public speaking in every day life.  We compete as a member of the American Parliamentary Debate Association (APDA) against colleges and universities across the country and around the world.  

Coming Up: After returning for Spring Break, the Wesleyan Debate Team will be traveling to a number of tournaments.  For more information please consult our schedule. Weekly Meeting: Weekly meetings are held in room PAC 002 every Wednesday at 4:30 PM. We encourage all Wesleyan students to attend and participate as no prior experience is required to join the Wesleyan Debate Team. Nationals:

We are pleased to announce that Wesleyan has been chosen to host the 2005 APDA National Championships which will take place April 8-10.  The final rounds will be held in the Memorial Chapel and all are encouraged to attend.

To qualify to compete in the National Championships, each team must be composed of at least one member that has competed in the final round of any APDA sponsored tournament in the 2004-2005 school year.  Each APDA member school is also eligible to enter one additional team.  For those who plan on attending Nationals, please check back regularly as we will continue to add tournament information as it becomes available.
