About the Team

Wesleyan Men's Water Polo is a club member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association.  We play in the CWPA's New England Division.  Beginning in 2007, the division will include Yale, Williams, Dartmouth, Boston College, Boston University, and Middlebury.  The division winner gets an automatic birth in the National Collegiate Club Championship.

The season begins in early September and ends in early November.  The team plays in 3 New England Division tournaments as well as non-league invitationals and scrimmages.  In the off-season, the team will normally play in one invitational tournament and a few scrimmages.

Practices are held in-season Monday-Friday from 4-6:30 and Saturday afternoons.  Practices consist of swimming, drills, strategy, lifting, dryland exercise, and intra-squad scrimmages.

Wesleyan water polo does not hold tryouts and does not cut players.  Any student, graduate or undergrad, is eligible to play.  If you are interested in the sport, please come to a practice early in September.  Strong swimming skills are recommended.  The team is comprised mostly of varsity swimmers, baseball players, and those who played in a high school polo program.
