Music
Library Association Clearinghouse
A collection of documents and links primarily aimed at
the professional music librarian. However, a number of documents
are of use to both non-music librarians and patrons interested in musical
topics, including the Necrology file and Anna Seaberg's list of musical
links.
-
NEMLA
The New England Chapter of the Music Library Association,
the NEMLA page includes useful links to area music collections.
-
Association
for Recorded Sound Collections
The national organization for issues surrounding all
sound recordings, from copyright to preservation to playback of older or
unusual recordings.
-
Libraryland
A useful set of links on a variety of topics, including
music and film. The music page includes links for lyrics, record
labels, etc., but unfortunately no annotations.
-
Music Selection
Resources on the WWW
Compiled by Anna Seaberg of the King County Public Library
System (Seattle), this list of links has lots of useful links for public
library patrons and librarians.
-
The Netizens
Cyberstop Music Page
An especially strong set of links for New York City popular
music.
-
Sibelius
Academy
Another set of links, especially useful for European
topics, but also for classical music generally. Good list for ethnomusicology,
and most of the major sites for rock and pop music.

Brought to you by the good folks who provide the Necrology
Index, this relatively modest set of links has some of the better ethnomusicological
sites.
-
Ethnomusicology,
Folk Music, and World Music @ UW
Written to support a doctoral program in ethnomusicology
at the University of Washington, a good list of links to archives, record
labels, and miscellaneous tools (but no annotations).
-
Mining Company
A commercial site, this has one of the most impressive
list of links, helpfully delineated by geographic region.
