In September 2018, we launched a new Wesleyan homepage along with a number of other changes in the ways we tell Wesleyan’s story in words and images. Our goal was to create a set of symbols that were authentic, distinctive to Wes, and pointed to its future.

Many community members shared their reactions—both positive and negative—to the changes. In an effort to find the best solution for Wesleyan, we elected to discontinue use of the new monogram ‘W’ and launch a process to find a replacement. We’re reaching out to students, faculty, staff, and alumni leadership to convene a group to develop all the options, and go through a process of getting wide input with the hopes of having a solution early next year. We have already received many interesting ideas, so we anticipate part of this will be an open call for designs. Check back here for regular updates. This is Why.
