Due to COVID-19, we are unable to host our annual Open Houses on campus, but with the help of students, faculty and staff on campus we've put together a very robust schedule of virtual events for you and your family. Virtual tours will be offered every 2 hours, beginning at 9 a.m..

Join Professors Stephen Angle, Professor of Philosophy and East Asian Studies; Steven W. Horst, Philosophy Department Chair; and Tushar Irani, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Letters for a virtual class!

For many philosophers, Eastern and Western, philosophy has been more than an effort to answer fundamental theoretical questions. It has been an activity aimed at changing one's orientation to the world and, thus, how one lives one's life. This course will explore Chinese, Greco-Roman, and contemporary versions of the idea that philosophy should be seen as a way of living a good life.

Wesleyan Town Hall: Coping in Crisis: A Discussion about Race, Faith and Mental Health

Racial injustice and COVID-19 are exacerbating the mental health crisis in communities of color and on college campuses. This Town Hall webinar brings 4 prominent and outspoken leaders to the Wesleyan community to talk about their life journeys and explore issues about mental health, faith, culture, and brain science, with Wesleyan students, staff, and faculty. We will set this discussion amidst the background of systemic racism, the global pandemic, police brutality, social justice marches, uncertain job market, and struggling economy.  Panelists include:Former NBA star, Olympic Gold medalist, and non-profit founder Allan Houston, Yale Professor of Psychiatry Nii Addy, Pastor Marichal Monts, leader of the Ebony Singers, and Angie Makomenaw, Mental Health Education and Prevention Coordinator at Wesleyan University.
