Overnight Stays

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Wesleyan's campus is closed to the public.  For the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, please do not visit campus.  All in-person admission related activities/events are cancelled until further notice.  Click here to learn about the various ways you can engage and experience Wes virtually at this time.

Join us for an overnight visit and experience Wesleyan from a student’s perspective! High school seniors and transfer students will be hosted for one night by a Wesleyan student from Sunday through Thursday nights. The program operates throughout the fall semester, mid-September through the end of November. Overnights are also available to transfer students during the month of February. Please notify the Office of Admission at least 5 days in advance of your interest in an overnight visit.

Overnights during the month of April are open for admitted students only. Upon receipt of notification of admission, admitted students may arrange for overnight stays using the link below.

To arrange an overnight stay please fill out this form. If you have questions about doing an overnight at Wesleyan, please email Corey Petrie.

  • How it Works

Students are asked to check-in at the reception desk in Admission with our Overnight Host Coordinators at 4:30 p.m. on the day of their visit. Students must bring the required Visitation Policy/Medical Permission Form when checking in at the Office of Admission. This is where you will meet your host and start your time on campus. Typically, students attend dinner with their host and accompany them to their activities that evening. However, it may be the case that your host has homework to do, so bring your own work to do or check out the events calendar to discover what else may be available to you during your visit!

If you are going to arrive later than 4:30, please be sure to let us know by emailing lcarta@wesleyan.edu or calling Loreen at (860) 685-2974. If you are checking in later than 4:30 pm, you will check in with our Public Safety Office. They will contact your host and connect you with them for the evening.

  • What Should I Bring?

When you come to campus, please remember to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, shower shoes, personal toiletries, and funds for dining the following day. Your meal during the evening of your visit will be covered using a dinner voucher (meal ticket), however, other meals will not be covered. If you are planning to stay to visit a class or do an interview, please be sure to bring funds for dining on campus.  At Usdan Marketplace prices are as follows: $9.10/breakfast, $12.90/lunch, $15.80/dinner.

  • Interested in Attending a Class?

Typically, students spend the evening with their hosts, going to dinner and evening events with them. You typically part ways with your host the following morning. However, you can make the most of your visit by attending classes or doing an interview. If you are interested in independently attending a class during your visit, please see the list of courses on the admission website. If you are interested in attending a class that is not on this list, please be sure to reach out to the professor prior to your visit.

  • Other Information

If you are being hosted independently with a Wesleyan student (not through the Office of Admission), you are required to properly register with the Public Safety Office.  Proper registration requires the submission of the Visitation Policy/Medical Permission Form directly to the Public Safety Office.

Please address all e-mail with questions and comments about tours and visits to admission@wesleyan.edu.
