WHY I CHOSE WES:

The level of discourse at Wesleyan is both inspiring and terrifyingly brilliant. It’s an environment that makes it impossible not to learn, because you’re not the only one pulling for your success- the administration, the professors, and your peers- are all pulling for your success just as much as you are. Furthermore, to see a group of 3000 people who couldn’t be happier than where they are is unheard of, especially when those people are as diverse as the Wesleyan community is.

ACADEMIC
INTERESTS:

I didn’t, in fact, take a psychology class until my sophomore year, but it was in that class that I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my academic career studying this subject.  I had some idea that I wanted to get into English and government coming out of high school, and I came to Wes and discovered so many other things that pulled my interest away from those subjects.  I’m also hoping to be approved as a Modern Culture and Media Studies major, which would combine film, theatre, and psychology into one major, because I’m so interested in how culture and media reflect one another in these areas.

CAMPUS
ACTIVITIES:

Intramural Basketball
Intramural Dodge ball
Indoor Soccer
Director and actor at 2nd stage

Wesleying writer

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A TOUR GUIDE:

I was really apprehensive about Wesleyan, because I had heard about its reputation for being “out there,” and it terrified me.  I was scared.  But no college guidebooks or websites could properly describe that feeling that every Wes student inevitably gets that this is a really special place for special kinds of intellects, and I hope I can bring a little bit of that feeling to my tours.
