HIGH SCHOOL:
Harvard-Westlake
MAJOR:
Neuroscience and Biology double major
WHY I CHOSE WES:

The energy! There is an incredible presence of student activity here- I’ve never lacked in things to do with my time. Also, the open curriculum was a huge plus for me. It lets me take classes purely based on my interest in them, rather than on any sort of requirement. So everything I’m learning now is material I actually want to know.

ACADEMIC
INTERESTS:

I came to Wes knowing I was interested in human biology, but I had a huge interest in the humanities that had not been explored. Because of the open curriculum, I was able to take several classes my freshman year in a variety of subjects relating to the humanities and social sciences. But the class that ended up really interesting me the most was my Neuroscience and Behavior class my sophomore year. I had never taken a class on the brain before, and it was so amazing to me to see how much we know about it, and how much we still can know. To me, neuroscience is the ultimate interdisciplinary study, combining elements of psychology, biology, and microbiology all into one fascinating and ever-changing field. Through this class and participating in two neuroscience labs on campus, I’ve decided to dedicate my studies to the two closely related fields of Neuroscience and Biology.

FAVORITE CLASS:

Taiko drumming! This class opened my eyes to the exotic world of Japanese music and theatre. Academically, it’s intriguing, and physically, it gets to be a workout.

WHY I CHOSE TO BE A TOUR GUIDE:

First off, I love Wes and am always excited to show people just why it’s so great! Also it’s fun for me to help out students with one of the biggest decisions of high school by informing them of their choices and just giving any advice I have learned from having gone through the process myself.

FAVORITE MOVIE:

25th Hour

FAVORITE SONG:

Rich Girl by Hall & Oates

FUN FACT:

Like fingerprints, everyone’s tongue print is different.
