Visual Resources Collection

The Visual Resource Center maintains a collection of digital images currently numbering more than 203,000. These images are available online to the Wesleyan community, with a login and password, listed under Wesleyan Collections in the Wesleyan University Institutional Collection within the ARTstor Digital Library (https://library.artstor.org/#/home). Our legacy collection of more than 227,000 35mm slides is also housed in the Boger Hall facility and serve as an invaluable reference and cataloging resource. An additional 35000 digital images have yet to be published to the online site. This transfer is a current and continuing project. The VRC creates digital content both in JPEG and TIFF formats. These images are captured from various sources, some of which are original photographic prints, published images, as well as scanning from slides. These initiatives support the pedagogical and publishing needs of the Wesleyan faculty. We welcome the entire Wesleyan community to make use of our services.
