Wesleyan capped its excursion to Florida by taking decisions from Northeast rivals U of New England, 7-3, and Western Conn., 2-1, to even its record for the trip to 6-6. After a slow 1-5 start, the Cardinals finsihed with a solid 5-1 record with the only loss coming against a Division II opponent from Minnesota. Wesleyan hopes to begin its northern slate with a doubleheader against Eastern Conn. at home Wed., March 25. The pitching of Julie McDonald '18 (#7, right side photo) with help from Su Pardo '16 (#10, left side photo) in both the circle and at the plate were keys to the final pair of triumphs. McDonald threw a complete game against UNE, allowing seven hits and three runs, two of them earned, with seven strikeouts. Wesleyan pushed out to a 5- lead after two innings as hits by Izzy Linzer '17 and Jamie Hom '17, the latter for an RBI, combined with a UNE error and a sacrifice fly by Annalie Walsh-Costello '17 for three runs in the 1st.
