The Gordon Career Center offers a variety of career advising appointment types to help support your career development goals. While we are operating remotely, all advising appointments will be hosted via Zoom.

  • Resume, Cover Letter, & Quick Question Appointments

    For resume/cover letter reviews, quick questions, or help using Handshake or other career resources. These 20-minute sessions are with a highly trained Peer Career Advisor and can be scheduled in advance on Handshake or day-of (if available) in-person or via phone 860-685-2180. 

  • General Career Advising/All Other Career Fields and Interests
    For students interested in career exploration and/or fields such as media & communications, arts & entertainment, government, nonprofit, and education, as well as volunteer and gap-year experiences. Includes graduate school advising in these areas.
  • Mock Interview
    Practice your interviewing skills and receive individualized feedback on your responses. Discuss interview techniques and strategies. General mock interviews are available as well as mocks for Business, Health Professions, Law, and STEM.
  • Business

    Career advice and guidance for areas of business such as finance, consulting, marketing, advertising, data analytics, entrepreneurship, sales, real estate, accounting, actuarial science, and others.

    Appointments with the Business Career Advisor can focus on any of the following:

    • Help identifying what area of business to focus on
    • Assistance preparing for an internship/job application in business
    • Technical interview for Finance
    • Case interview for Consulting
    • General interview for any business role
    • Guidance on when to attend business school and help with the application process once decided.
  • Health Professions

    For individuals pursuing careers such as medicine, dentistry, nursing, public health, and many others. 

    Appointments with the Health Professions Advisor are designed for students or graduates looking for:

    • an overview of the diversity of health professions and expectations of candidates for health professions graduate schools
    • academic advising; internship or volunteer opportunities; post-graduation employment and fellowships
    • assistance with the application process, including an institutional letter of recommendation (Health Professions Panel letter) for medical, dental or veterinary school

    In preparation for an interview for admission to a Medical/Dental/Veterinary professional school, Mock Medical Interviews are available.

  • Law
    For students who want to explore the field of law, are interested in attending law school, or who seek guidance during the LSAT and law school application process.
  • STEM
    For students pursuing careers in science (including psychology), technology, engineering, or mathematics, and/or are interested in related Masters/PhD programs.
