Grant Support for Travel Related to Pedagogical Initiatives

Dear colleagues,

The Center for Pedagogical Innovation (CPI) can provide grants to support travel related to pedagogical initiatives at Wesleyan University. The purpose is to support professional development to encourage pedagogical innovation and enhance the effectiveness of instruction.

Requests for financial support of up to $1,500 may include proposals to:

Attend a workshop, institute, or related activity focused on enhancing instruction and/or innovative pedagogical approaches.
  1. Travel to consult with faculty or other experts at outside institutions to facilitate the use of innovative pedagogical approaches in your classes or to enhance instruction.

These example activities are not meant to be exclusive, but rather are listed as an indication of the types of proposals that may be supported.

How to Apply

Send an application to jrose01@wesleyan.edu by October 1, 2019.  The application should explain the benefit of the travel and how it can:

  • Address an issue important to curricular reform or teaching enhancement.
  • Advance the strategic goals of the university as they apply to:
  • Enhancing student learning.
  • Enhancing teaching effectiveness.
  • Potentially leading to external funding for future projects that address teaching enhancement and innovative pedagogies.
