In an online course, all required contact hours are internet-based. Contact includes instruction, learning activities, and interactions (both student-student and/or student-instructor). Completion of assessments and exams in-person at authorized proctoring locations may be required at the instructor’s discretion (this includes semester and final assessments and exams).

We offer support and services to instructors planning to teach courses fully online and will assist interested instructors in the design, development, and maintenance of such courses.

The online course design process is similar to the design of blended or face to face instruction in that it is based on the alignment of goals, objectives, assessments, and learning activities.  However, the online environment poses unique challenges and offers different advantages when compared to blended or face to face classes.  We use various design techniques and accepted standards to guide instructors through the process ensuring instructor and student satisfaction.
