Wesleyan has adopted new provisions in its health plans for the treatment of Covid-19. Following Cigna’s actions for its fully insured plans, Wesleyan will also cover treatment with no cost to our members through February 15, 2021, in all three of our health plans including the High Deductible Plan.

Cigna has suspended prescription authorization requirements for refills for 90 days. This is to minimize pressure on health care providers during the pandemic. This is only for refills; new prescriptions will still require prior authorization. Additionally, certain over-the-counter medications and health products are now reimbursable from Medical Expense Reimbursement Accounts and Health Savings Accounts.

There are a number of resources available to help navigate these challenging times. More information can be found at Self Care Resources.

Wesleyan is participating in provisions of the CARES Act that will allow eligible employees affected by Covid-19 to access funds through loans or hardship withdrawals from their Supplemental Retirement Account. Eligibility for these provisions considers if you, your spouse, or dependent have been diagnosed with COVID-19 using a CDC approved test or if you are experiencing adverse financial consequences as a result of COVID-19 (you are quarantined, you or your family member has been furloughed, laid off or your hours reduced, you or your family member cannot work due to lack of childcare).

We have best practices resources available for faculty and staff for working remotely as well as advice for supervisors managing remote employees.
