Using MAC Native VPN (10.8 and above)

Follow these instructions to use native Mac VPN functionality to connect to Wesleyan's VPN network.  

Open System Preferences

Mac_sys_prefs

Select Network

Mac_network

Click the + symbol to Create a new service

From the dropdown menus select:

Interface: VPN
VPN Type: Cisco IPSec
Then create a Service Name such as Wes WebVPN

Click Create.

In the Server Address enter webvpn.wesleyan.edu
In the Account Name enter your user name.
Leave the Password field blank. You will be prompted when you connect.  This is required for security purposes. 

Check the box next to Show VPN Status in menu bar.

Then click Authentication Settings

Select Shared Secret and enter wesleyan (all lowercase)

Enter Group name: vpn

Click OK

At the next screen, click Apply.

After clicking Apply, an icon will be added to your status bar at the top of your screen that looks like this:

Click on the icon and then click Connect WesWebVPN.

You will be prompted to enter your Wesleyan password. Click OK.

Once connected, you will be prompted with a VPN Connection window. Click OK to accept.

When you are finished and wish to Disconnect.  Click the VPN icon in the status bar and select Disconnect.
