COVID Vaccinations and Testing
  • I am vaccinated. Will I still need to test?
Testing is optional for vaccinated staff and will be available on August 31 for one day only. Optional testing for vaccinated staff will return beginning on September 7 and will continue until further notice. Staff working remotely should not come to campus to test. Testing will be available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Beckham Hall in Fayerweather. Although appointments are not required, we anticipate delays during peak testing hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please try to test outside of those hours. Alternatively, use the CT Testing Locator to locate the nearest off-campus testing site. Learn more about testing.
  • What are the safety protocols for unvaccinated staff?
Unvaccinated staff are required to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols—always wearing face coverings (indoors and outdoors), following social distancing guidelines and mandatory weekly testing. If unable to test on campus, unvaccinated employees must submit test results to Donna Brewer, Human Resources.
Health and Safety
  • Are masks required on campus?

Masks are required indoors on campus except when alone in one’s own private residential bedroom or when alone in one’s own private office. This includes in shared public spaces, such as classrooms/meeting rooms, the library, dining, residential common areas and some office configurations. When in doubt, please wear a mask.

Campus Operations
  • Are visitors allowed on campus?

Yes. Wesleyan requires all visitors (contractor, vendors and attendees to athletic events, conferences and performances) to be vaccinated. For some contracted work, individual employees may seek an exemption through their employer. All visitors should be prepared to provide proof of vaccination. Vaccinated visitors may attend outdoor events and outdoor activities unmasked.

  • Is University travel permitted?

University-funded travel (domestic and international, including study abroad) is permitted for fully vaccinated employees and students so long as the destination is rated COVID-level 3 by the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC). If a country rises to COVID-level 4 after tickets are purchased, travel to that country should be cancelled or delayed until the country returns to level 3 or below. Learn more about CDC Travel Guidance. To assist employees and students traveling abroad, the Fries Center for Global Studies has set up a travel registry. Faculty, students, and staff traveling outside the United States are encouraged to sign up.
