Students should be tested for COVID-19 at Beckham Hall in Fayerweather sometime between January 27 and 29, and receive results before they return to in-person learning.

Spring break will now be March 12–20.

A recording of the webinar for students and parents held on Friday, January 14 has been added to the webinar page.

All students will be expected to get a COVID-19 test no later than two days prior to arriving at Wesleyan. A PCR test is preferable, but if that is not possible, a rapid test is sufficient. . Students must upload this result to WesPortal prior to coming to campus. (You may wish to use the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nationwide testing locator to find the nearest testing site in your hometown.)

Testing is available for students already on campus on Wednesday, January 5, and Wednesday, January 12, 2022.  Testing hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Beckham Hall.

Testing will resume for students already on campus beginning Monday, January 17, 2022.

During the semester

Regular covid testing for the spring will resume on January 17, 2022 (for students already on campus) and January 27, 2022 (for returning students), on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week.  All students are required to test twice weekly, testing cadence (e.g. Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday). Testing is closed on Wednesdays. For schedule and information, visit the Testing page.

Staff and Faculty

Faculty and staff who are working remotely with only occasional visits to campus, should not come to campus to test. Regular covid testing for staff and faculty will resume the week of January 17, 2022.

During the semester

All faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to test twice weekly (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday). Employees with approved vaccine exemptions are now required to test twice a week, beginning January 17. Testing is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in Beckham Hall, from 9:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m. Testing is closed on Wednesdays. For more information on covid testing, visit the Testing page

Although appointments are not required, we anticipate delays during peak testing hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please try to test outside of those hours.

Alternatively, use the CT Testing Locator to locate the nearest off-campus testing site.

As a reminder, all students must have a COVID-19 booster and flu vaccine to register for classes. All faculty and staff must receive a booster within 30 days of CDC eligibility, in order to be in compliance with the University booster policy. The updated vaccination card should be uploaded to WesPortal, reporting the date on which they received their booster shot, by Friday, January 14.

The University will follow the new CDC recommendations regarding isolation. Learn more about the University’s new isolation protocol.

Face Coverings

Masks will continue to be required indoors on campus except in one’s own private residential bedroom or in one’s own private office. This includes in shared public spaces, such as classrooms/meeting rooms, the library, dining, and residential common areas. For those who are unvaccinated, masks must be worn indoors and outdoors.

Housing and Dining

In order to arrive prior to January 27, students should submit an Early Arrival Exception Request to Residential Life. The deadline to apply for an exception is noon on January 10. For more information, visit Residence Life.

Your spring semester meal plan will be active based on the date you have permission to arrive back on campus.  Usdan Marketplace will be open for this period for brunch and dinner. Dining will be grab and go only for the first week of the semester.  For more information, visit Dining Services.

Social Gatherings and Events

No student social events or wood frame parties will be permitted in the first week of classes between January 27 and February 6 to allow for students to have at least two negative tests since arriving on campus.

Spectators at all indoor athletic events are limited to individuals who are part of the university’s testing protocol. The athletics spectator policy will be in effect until the end of January.
