InterLibrary Loan is available to current Wesleyan faculty, staff, and registered graduate, honors and undergraduate students.
Alumni, guests/visitors, and town borrowers are not eligible to use InterLibrary Loan.

ILL borrowing limits

Undergraduates are limited to 15 active InterLibrary Loan requests at a time.  Honors thesis writers who have attended a library thesis writers workshop are given an increased limit of 30 active requests.  (Active requests include ILL items that are currently checked out and requests waiting to be filled.)

ILL Loan Periods, Renewals, Overdues

There is no set loan period for InterLibrary Loans.  The due date is set by the lending library and varies widely.  Please adhere to the due date on the paper that wraps your ILL item.

Renewals cannot be guaranteed.  Place your request for a renewal (by requesting it from your ILL account) before the due date. In your ILLIAD account, click on the RENEW/CHECKED OUT ITEMS link on the left side of the page.  You will now see a list of items you have checked out.  You must click on the Transaction Number of the item you want to renew.  Once you click on the Transaction Number, a new screen will appear.  Click on the “Renew Request” link at the top of the page.  If you don’t see “Renew Request”, please contact the ILL office at x3876 to inquire.

Overdue ILL items may result in your ILL account being blocked from further borrowing.

Some ILL materials may be used only in the library.  Others may not permit photocopying.  These restrictions are assigned by the lending library and should be adhered to.

Lost or damaged ILL items

If a book is lost or damaged, please notify the ILL office.  You will be billed an amount set by the lending library for lost or damaged items.
