Drop-in advising

Drop-in advising hours are for short consultations that typically last 5-15 minutes. We offer in-person and virtual drop-in advising services each week during the fall and spring semesters. For in-person, drop-in advising services, we ask that you complete an intake form when you arrive to OISA in Fisk Hall Room 105. We also expect you to review our website before utilizing our drop-in advising services and come prepared with specific questions related to your situation. Drop-in advising services are provided on a first come, first served basis. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Appointments

Appointments are longer consultations for complex immigration or other international student matters that typically last 20-30 minutes. OISA professional staff offer appointments by request on Fridays between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. EST. To request an appointment, please send an email to oisa@wesleyan.edu with your full name, WesID, details of your situation, availability during the two Friday appointment time slots listed above, and preference for in-person or virtual advising. We expect you to review our website for relevant guidance and come prepared to your appointment with specific questions related to your situation.

Please utilize the designated hours and modalities listed above for your OISA advising needs during the Spring 2023 Semester. We are a small and busy team and do not have the capacity to offer ad hoc advising support throughout the day.

*As of the start of the Spring 2023 Semester, Middlesex County, where Middletown and Wesleyan are located, is experiencing high levels of COVID-19 transmission. As a result, Wesleyan's health leaders are recommending students, staff, and faculty wear facial coverings while indoors. We recommend that you bring a mask if you come to OISA for in-person advising services and wear it to protect yourself and others. You may always request that an OISA professional staff member wear a facial covering if you come to our office for an in-person advising consultation. More information about Wesleyan's COVID-19 protocols and resources can be found on the Keep Wes Safe website.
