Orientation Leader Position

The Orientation Program is seeking Orientation Leaders to welcome the Class of 2025, new transfer, exchange and visiting students. Orientation Leaders (OLs) will have the option to work for one or more of the following programs:

New Student Orientation (NSO)
First-Gen Low Income Orientation (FTF – “First Things First”)
International Student Orientation (ISO) 
Orientation Leaders will mentor and guide students during the program they have been selected for. Orientation Leaders also lead small group sessions, help manage events, including welcoming students at airports, working at residence hall arrival sites, informational forums and social events. 

Expectations
:  Orientation Leaders must return to campus in late August (exact date tbd) and also participate in virtual trainings beginning in March and throughout the summer. OLs will also lead virtual pre-arrival small group meetings with new students in August. All Orientation staff must attend training sessions and participate fully during FTF/ ISO and NSO (August 29 -September 5). Any other commitment during this time-period must be pre-approved by the Director of their specified program.

Qualifications
: Students from the class of ’22, ’23 & '24 are eligible to apply and must be in good academic / judicial standing. Successful candidates must be reliable, enthusiastic, and compassionate with good communication skills, a positive attitude about campus life, culturally sensitive and experience working with diverse student populations.

Terms and Benefits:
Period of work: Late March 2021 – September 5, 2021
You will be paid $12 per hour for all training sessions and a stipend of $500 once you arrive to campus and the Orientation Program begins.
Housing and meals (until your meal plan is activated) will be covered.

Please note: Due to potential scheduling conflicts, if you work for Residential Life (RA, HM, CA, etc.), are a Peer Advisor, Eco Facilitator or Usdan Center Manager, you will not be eligible for the Orientation Leader position.
