Subject: SAFETY ALERT INFORMATION

 Dear Wesleyan Community:

At approximately 11:40 p.m. Middletown Police  contacted  Wesleyan Public Safety to advise us of a robbery that occurred on Home Avenue.  This incident occurred at a non Wesleyan residence and did not involve Wesleyan students or staff.

An unknown number of juveniles pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the victim in this matter and demanded money. The suspects then fled the area in a blue colored Toyota sedan. The direction of travel is unknown. At this point the victim was unable to provide any description of the suspects.

A license plate number was obtained and it is as follows: 410- P U M (CT).  The area has been thoroughly checked and the vehicle is no longer in the campus area. The suspects are believed to be heading for the Hartford area and here is no reason to believe they will return to the Home Ave.  If you have any information about this incident or you observe this vehicle, immediately contact the Middletown Police by calling 9-1-1.

If you are out walking this evening please use the RIDE shuttle service.  Be sure to contact Public Safety if you see any suspicious activity or would like an escort.  Officers are available 24/7. Dispatch can be reached by calling 860-685-3333.  I will provide any updates should additional information become available.

Sincerely

Scott W Rohde
