Subject: Sharing tragic news

Dear friends,

I’m deeply saddened to inform you that a member of the Wesleyan community, Brooke Rich, who worked for Bon Appétit, was killed in a hit-and-run accident last night while walking home from work.

Brooke has been a Bon Appétit employee since 2007, and a long-time Middletown resident. She was a loving mother who leaves behind a young family. Our condolences go out to them, as well as to her friends and colleagues on the Bon Appétit staff.

During this tragic time, let’s remember Brooke for the joy she brought to all those she greeted at Daniel Family Commons. Her friendly, open smile brightened many a day.

I encourage any student in need of support to contact Counseling and Psychological Services at (860) 685-2910. Faculty and staff may contact the Employee Assistance Program at (800) 854-1446. Counseling services will also be offered to Bon Appétit employees.

Sincerely,

Michael S. Roth

President
