Subject: "Mindfulness at Wesleyan: You are invited."

Dear Students,

Did you know that 80% of college students say they frequently experience daily stress? You are not alone.

Mindfulness and meditation can help deal with stress and improve your well being.

Join us for our sampler drop-in mindfulness class at 6pm on Monday 1/25/16 in Usdan Fayerweather 106 (Theatre Rehersal Room).

The class will be taught by:
Amy Tate, PHD
Scott Kessel, Wesleyan ’87 MALS ’92
David Leipziger Teva, Director – Office of Religious and Spiritual Life

This will be an introduction to our 6-week course which will meet for six consecutive Mondays, 6:00-8:00pm, beginning on 1/25/16. (Please wear comfortable/loose fitting clothing, and bring a yoga mat if you can). Due to student interest we have taught this class for the past 6 semesters.

During this course, students will be introduced to various techniques of mindfulness practice and spiritual awareness, including sitting meditation and yoga. These modalities are designed to aid in stress and anxiety reduction, and when practiced diligently, may also offer opportunities for greater self-awareness and personal development. The goal is to give students a community as well as a spiritual toolbox that is portable, replicable, and sustainable. Students will gain an understanding of the roles these practices can play in leading a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. You may be able to receive  .25  academic credit.

To be considered for the 6 week class, please attend the mandatory 1/25 class and apply at:
