 Wellness Month: Sleep for Trauma Survivors

The SACE Director & Director of WesWell will facilitate a discussion on negotiating sleep for trauma survivors. A review of the neurobiology of trauma and physiology of sleep, sleep hygiene techniques, and resources for support will be offered. Join us for lunch and discussion!

Join the SACE Director & CAPS Director for a 6-session dialogue event is on integrating tools of trauma-informed care into our everyday life, and specifically honing skills to hold space for survivors and connect them to resources.

Supportive Healing Space for Survivors

Starting Tuesday, October 1st, 6:30-7:30 pm, Davison Health Center, Solarium

Join the SACE Director & Women & Families Center Campus Advocate for an 8-session healing space designed to offer student-survivors the opportunity to engage in open dialogue and support, self-care, and h healing following experiences of interpersonal violence. This supportive healing space has rolling, open-enrollment, where drop-in attendance is welcome. It is open to anyone who identifies as a survivor of interpersonal violence.

Creative Journaling Workshop

Thursday, September 13th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, Usdan 110

Come to this interactive workshop, where we will practice different techniques of creative journaling as tools of emotional self-care. Journals, markers, colored pencils, and rulers will be provided!

Womxn@Wes Domestic Violence Awareness Month Training: Domestic Violence and the Workplace

Wednesday, October 17th, 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Usdan 108

This workshop for faculty and staff will discuss domestic violence in the workplace. Domestic violence will be defined, types of abuse discussed, and red flags for intervention will be identified. Learn how you can support your colleagues, whom may also identify as survivors, and the resources available to them.

Know Your Survivor Advocate Panel Discussion

Looking to to learn more about the survivor support resources on campus and in the Middletown community? Join us for snacks and a panel discussion with representatives from the Wesleyan SACE Office, New Horizons, and the Women & Families Center. This event is open to the full Wesleyan community, so faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend.

Workshop on Consent & Relationships

Join the SACE Director and Women & Families Center Campus Advocate for a conversation about consent—what it is, what it means to students, and how to negotiate conversations around giving and receiving consent. Snacks will be provided!

Title IX Comment Writing Event

Join us for a "drop-in event" to get information about submitting your own individual comments to the Department of Education, following the recent release of proposed Title IX regulations. Pizza will be served until we run out!
