Join the Eco Facilitators Team!

If you’re excited to learn more about sustainability, build skills, and are fun-loving, then you have the ability to be a great Eco Facilitator (EF). No previous experience or knowledge about the environment, sustainability, or social justice is necessary. People from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

Each cohort of EFs includes 16 students with a range of environmental and non-environmental interests and backgrounds. EFs work to provide students with the tools, education, and encouragement necessary to develop sustainable living practices, as well to encourage a sense of environmental consciousness and social responsibility, regardless of prior sustainability knowledge.

Each spring, hired EFs enroll in a semester-long student forum focused on learning about sustainability at Wesleyan, connecting environmental issues on campus to broader social injustices, and developing effective strategies to encourage sustainable practices. Throughout the following academic year, EFs are paid to apply their ideas in dorms and across campus. Working as an Eco Facilitator is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills and take part in building a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive campus community.
