Wesleyan's Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math-Science, federally funded TRIO programs, are designed to aid low-income and first-generation students from Middletown and Meriden in their pursuit of a college education.
The programs prepare local youth for college, and strengthen their academic skills by providing rigorous summer program experiences as well as ongoing academic enrichment and tutorial support, college visits, college application and financial application processes during the school year.
The Upward Bound program serves the Meriden community, while Upward Bound Math-Science serves Middletown students.
