Wesleyan employs approximately 400 faculty and 800 staff. Of those employees, about 350 live in the city of Middletown and over 550 in Middlesex County. Wesleyan has approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students enrolled, nearly all of whom live on campus, dine in local restaurants, and shop in local stores. Thousands of visitors pass through Wesleyan every year, whether they’re taking a campus tour or taking in a performance at the Center for the Arts. Over 7,000 Wesleyan alumni call Connecticut home.

Direct Spending

Over the past five years, Wesleyan has spent nearly $86 million on major maintenance and capital projects, using mostly local subcontractors. In addition, over $68 million was spent during that period on ongoing maintenance and operations of the buildings and campus, including utility costs.
