A magnificent orchestra of bronze gongs, xylophone, drums, strings, and voices, the gamelan accompanies feasts, ceremonies, and dances. Wesleyan’s Javanese Gamelan Ensemble, under the direction of University Professor of Music Harjito, presents an evening of Javanese gamelan.
