The Taymor World Theater Fellowship provides travel opportunities for enterprising young theater directors to immerse themselves in artistic experiences beyond our borders; thereby, expanding their creative horizons to include previously undiscovered styles and techniques which can best be experienced in direct dialogue and work with creative artists from other cultures. It is the program's hope that through travel to and dialogue with world theater artists, American fellowship recipients will increase their creative capacity and return to enliven the American theater with new productions fueled by their expanded perspective of world theater in Africa, Central and South America, Asia, and/or the Middle East.

China | The Yenching Academy provides a scholarship that covers tuition fees, a travel stipend for one round-trip journey between each Scholar’s base city and Beijing, accommodations, and living costs on Peking University's campus. The Academy offers a residential program aimed at creating a community of enthusiastic, globally oriented young innovators in the heart of China's top university. The American India Foundation & William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India pairs highly skilled young professionals with leading NGOs and social enterprises order to accelerate impact and create effective projects that are replicable, scalable, and sustainable.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals (CBYX) is a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Congress, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each others' countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program.

The Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs is a 9-month program that develops emerging leaders to work and lead across different sectors by equipping them with knowledge, skills, and networks to accelerate positive change. Each Fellow participates in a series of full-time projects across a variety of sectors in public affairs, including a final independent project of the Fellow’s choosing. 

Global Health Corps strives to mobilize a global community of emerging leaders to build the movement for health equity. A list of fellowship opportunities and selection criteria may be found through their website.

Humanity in Action Fellowship objective is to facilitate a collective exploration of the social and political roots of discrimination, as well as to provide a forum where potential solutions to some of today's most challenging issues can be considered and discussed.

Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellows Program trains emerging leaders in the fight to end hunger worldwide. It is a unique two-year program that combines field and policy work. Leland Fellows develop new skills while actively working to alleviate hunger and poverty in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Open Society Foundations awards a limited number of grants to individuals, primarily through scholarships and fellowships. Individuals may apply for multiple grants at once. Scholarships are awarded to a qualified person to attend or affiliate with an accredited university. Fellowships are awarded to a qualified individual to work on a project in a field aligned with Open Society values over a fixed period of time.

Peace Corps members serve abroad for two years plus training, working directly with communities to build capacity in education, health, youth in development, environment, community economic development and agriculture.

PHENND Fellows places passionate and talented college graduates with local Philadelphia nonprofits as AmeriCorps VISTA members.

Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) Program is administered by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Each year, highly competitive applicants with advanced degrees (means a professional or graduate degree (e.g., master's, Ph.D., J.D.) are selected for the prestigious program, which allows fellows to rotate to different placements within the U.S. government over the period of two years.

Princeton in Africa fellows serve for a year in a variety of fields, including: advocacy, research, and civil society; agricultural development; business & economic development; community-level development; conflict resolution & peacebuilding; education & youth capacity building; environment & conservation; income generation; international humanitarian aid & development; and public & community health.

Princeton in Asia places fellows as teachers or non-profit organizations or in business throughout Asia.

Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) places fellows at non-profit organizations throughout Latin America. The focus of local organizations range from education to public health and more.

Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in Rotary’s areas of focus. Grant sponsors form international partnerships that respond to real community needs. Global grants can fund: humanitarian projects, scholarships for graduate-level academic studies or vocational training teams, which are groups of professionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about a particular field or to learn more about their own field of interest.

Samuel Huntington Public Service Award provides a $15,000 stipend for a graduating college senior to pursue one year of public service anywhere in the world. The award allows recipients to engage in a meaningful public service activity for one year before proceeding on to graduate school or a career.

The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, is a highly-competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and graduate school alumni with the opportunity to gain a Washington perspective on key issues of peace and security. Twice yearly, the fellowship’s Board of Directors selects a group to spend 6 to 9 months in Washington. Supported by a salary, the fellows serve as full-time junior staff members at the participating organization of their choice.

Soros Justice Youth Activist Fellowships fund individuals who take on projects that advance reform, spur debate, and catalyze change on a range of issues facing the U.S. criminal justice system. Projects range from public education and training to grassroots organizing and policy advocacy to social media campaigns and other forms of creative communications.

The Resolution Project was founded in 2007 to develop and empower young leaders so they can pursue socially responsible solutions to issues affecting communities around the world. The Resolution Fellowship is an ecosystem of support to help the participants implement their idea(s) and develop as socially responsible leaders.

Venture for America is a two-year fellowship program for those who want to work at a startup and create jobs in American cities. Fellows learn startup skills during a 5-week Training Camp, apply for jobs within VFA’s company network, and work for two years as full-time, salaried employees in one of 18 cities.

406 Ventures Student Fellows program combines academic entrepreneurial experiences offered through school with the real-world skills and networks needed to start successful companies. Fellows are required to have started a company, working at a company when they join the Fellowship, or start a company while an active Fellow.

English Language Fellow Program, highly qualified U.S. educators in the field of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) participate in 10-month-long fellowships at academic institutions throughout the world.

French Ministry of Education Teaching Assistantships offers the opportunity to work in France for 7 months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Each year, over 1,100 American citizens and permanent residents teach in public schools across all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.

Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program strives to improve internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between the people of Japan and those of other nations. The Program has applicants for the teaching fellowship from a variety of countries in order to enhance foreign language education and promote international exchange.

Princeton in Africa fellows serve for a year in a variety of fields, including education.

Spanish Ministry of Education and Science North American Language and Culture Assistant fellowship program is managed by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Teachers are placed for a year and have the option to renew their contract and continue their teaching placement.

In Korea, there are two prominent programs - both operated by the government. EPIK was established in 1995 and is affiliated with the Korean Ministry of Education. Since its inception, EPIK has had the goals of improving the English-speaking abilities of Korean students and teachers, developing cultural exchange between Korea and abroad, and of introducing new teaching methods into the Korean education system. The second program is Teach and Learn in Korea also known as the ‘TaLK’ Program, is a unique scholarship opportunity for undergraduates who are seeking a personal, professional and educational experience in the Republic of Korea.

Through the Teach for All network, diverse leaders from a range of experiences and academic disciplines to commit two years to teach in high need classrooms in their country and to work collectively with others to ensure all students can attain an excellent and equitable education. Those interested apply to the network partner in their country.

Teach for China is a non-profit organization that recruits recent graduates from the US and China to teach in China for a fellowship period of two years to support equality in education across China. Fellows are provided with an intensive training program including pedagogy and Chinese language skills.

Teach for Colombia has prepared an intensive training program to ensure the success of our participants in the classroom, so that they are optimally prepared and supported to become excellent teachers and achieve the goals of student performance. Through this program, participants teach on a two year contract.

The English Opens Doors Program in Chile (Programa Inglés Abre Puertas) is an initiative supported by the Chilean Ministry of Education. The Program was created in 2003 to improve the level of English for students between 5th grade and 12th grade throughout the Chilean public school system. The English Opens Doors Program seeks to foster a new generation of Chilean students equipped with the tools and abilities they will need to succeed in an increasingly globalized world.

The Tillman Scholar Program unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. The fellowship supports Tillman Scholars with academic scholarships, a national network, and professional development opportunities so they are empowered to make an impact in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, technology, education and the arts. 

World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms is an exchange - In return for volunteer help, WWOOF hosts offer food, accommodation and opportunities to learn about organic lifestyles.

The Workaway student typically volunteers 4-5 hours a day in exchange for food and accommodation, with visits lasting anywhere from a few days to a few months. Travel cheaply and stay for free, whilst making a difference to the communities you visit.
