WesThrives—Campus Survey

Wesleyan University’s WesThrives Campus Survey was administered through a partnership with ModernThink from October 10-24, 2022. The survey provided an opportunity for all faculty and staff employed by the University as of July 1, 2022, to speak about the quality of our work, culture, benefits, management, communications, and more. We asked our community for feedback related to the overall campus climate in the following areas:

  • Job Satisfaction and Support
  • Professional Development
  • Faculty and Staff Well-being
  • Performance Management
  • Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
  • Mission and Pride
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership

As the first comprehensive census survey of this type to be broadly administered across campus, its results will allow leadership to establish a baseline understanding that will inform ongoing efforts to create a thriving community built upon trust, collegiality, and open-mindedness.

The University has identified three organizational priorities: diversity, inclusion, and belonging; performance management; and communications. President Michael S. Roth ’78 will directly oversee work on diversity, inclusion and belonging; Andrew Y. Tanaka ’00 and Nicole Stanton will lead efforts in improving performance management; and Renell Wynn will direct work in communications.
