These are the amazing Wesleyan international students who are helping OISA plan and lead our Fall 2023 International Student Orientation (ISO)! Each incoming, first-year, undergraduate international student will be assigned an International Student Orientation Leader (ISOL) and a group for their ISO experience.     Bio: Hi everyone, my name is Molly Fung and I use she/her pronouns! I'm a rising junior majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior and Psychology. I'm an international student from Costa Rica but my family’s originally from China and I’m currently trying to learn Chinese at Wes. On campus I'm involved with the CEAS Outreach Program and WesReads/Maths where I work with kids. I’m also involved with Psychology research in the Yellow Lab and Neuroscience research with Dr. Feng. Outside of school, I’m trying to learn how to crochet and I love dancing.

    Bio: Hi all! My name is Florina (she/her), and I'm a rising senior majoring in East Asian Studies (Literature & Culture) and Economics, and minoring in Data Analysis. I grew up in Indonesia and have studied in Italy and Taiwan. On campus, I'm involved in the Gordon Career Center, Olin Library, the CEAS department, and various research/library groups. I love cooking with my friends, throwing a frisbee around, scuba diving, creative writing, hiking, and engaging with my favorite media (Yellowjackets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 2521, ORV, and more!).     Advice for first-year international students: Take a language, music, or dance class. Read Disorientation (ig @ wes.disorientation) to learn more about Wesleyan from a critical perspective. Finally, look into program housing!

I grew up in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Outside of School, I love drumming - I started when I was 5. I am also passionate about Football (soccer) and love kicking a ball around, but I also watch just about any sport that has a ball.     Advice for first-year international students: Approach your Wesleyan Life one day at a time. Don't try to do everything at once, there is time for everything, and be open to trying out new things!

    Bio: Hellooooo!!! My name is Irene Tatsi (she/her) and I’m a rising sophomore. I have already declared the COL major and I’m planning on double majoring with something like Art History or Sociology, but that changes on a monthly basis... I am Greek but I lived in Cyprus for the last 6 years. On campus, I am involved with ASHA, the Adolescents Sexual Health Awareness Club, where we get to teach Sex Education in high schools! I love to partake in random activities that I find, like going to a talk or a dance show. When I am back home, I love to paint and go to the beach with my friends, read books, especially classic novels, and go on food-tasting adventures with my mum.     Advice for first-year international students: My advice for all of you would be to not worry too much and be assured that everything will fall into place. You will definitely find your people on campus. Don’t stress and try to have fun!

    Bio: Hi everyone! My name is Priyanshu Pokhrel and I use she/her pronouns! I am a rising sophomore majoring in Economics and Mathematics. I grew up in the bustling Kathmandu, Nepal surrounded by hills and mountains. On campus, I am involved in the Office of International Student Affairs (OISA) as an Office Intern. I also dedicate my time to the Upward Bound Program, supporting first-generation low-income high school students in the community. Outside of school, I have a passion for graphic design and content creation. I'm also an avid learner of Korean and love exploring the intricacies of data analysis. If you want to discuss my absolute favorite book, Tara Westover's "Educated," be prepared for an endless conversation!     Advice for first-year international students: Don't worry too much! Adjusting to a completely new environment is scary, but you are more tenacious than you think you are, and you will learn to adjust naturally along with your peers! And if you're worried about making friends, don't worry, I can always be your first friend at Wes :)
