Code of Non-Academic Conduct Case Summaries 2024-2025

REGULATION 1-Disturbance of the Peace

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that students A, B, C, D, and E violated Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct, Regulations 1 and 15.  The board found the students responsible for violating Regulations 1 and 15 and recommended that Students A, B, C, D, and E be sanctioned with a disciplinary warning and other educational sanctions.

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that a student violated Regulations 1 and 14 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for violating regulations 1 and 14. The board recommends disciplinary probation.

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that the student violated Regulations 1, 2, and 14 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for violating regulations 1, 2, and 14. The board recommends disciplinary probation.

In a Full hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated, Regulations 1, 2, 10, 13b, and 14 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct.  The board found the student responsible for violating Regulations 1, 2, 10, 13b, and 14 and recommended Student A to be dismissed from the university.

In a Full hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated Regulation 1, Regulation 2, and Regulation 14 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct.  The board found that the student was responsible for all three violations. The student received a disciplinary warning.

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated regulation 1, regulation 6, and regulation 13b of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. The respondent pled responsible to violating regulations 1, 6, and 13b. The board found the student responsible for violating regulations 1 and 13b, and not responsible for violating regulation 6. The board recommends disciplinary warning.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated a contract signed with Residential Life for students living on designated quiet streets. The board found the student responsible for violating this contract and recommended Student A be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

REGULATION 4 - Property

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated Regulation 4 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. The student was found responsible and will receive points and a disciplinary warning.

In a Simplified Hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated Regulation 4 and Regulation 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for Regulation 15 but not responsible for Regulation 4 and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning. 

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that 5 students violated regulations 4 and 15 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct.  Students A and B claimed not to be present, pleading not responsible for both violations, which was supported by the other 3 students. Students C, D, E pled responsible to 15 and not responsible to 4. After deliberation, the board found students A and B not responsible for both violations, and found Students C, D, and E responsible for violating regulations 4 and 15 as their actions in violating regulation 15 led directly to the actions violating regulation 4. The Board recommends disciplinary probation for Student C and disciplinary warnings for Students D and E

The board found the students responsible for violating regulation 15 and not responsible for violating regulation 4, and recommended Students A and B to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning.

Student B, C, D, E violated, Regulation 4 of the Code of Non-Academic Conduct . The board found the students responsible for violating Regulation 4 and recommended Student A, B, C, D, E be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning. As for the student responsible for violating Regulation 14, the board recommends that Student A be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning.

The board found the students responsible for violating Regulation 4 and recommended Student A and B to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

The board found the student responsible for violating Regulations 4, 10, and 13b and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A was alleged to have violated Regulation 4 of the Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The student was found responsible and the board determined that this behavior was in violation of Regulation 4. The student should return the item / pay for said item, deliver a written note of apology to the affected party, and be placed on probation. 

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated, Regulation 4 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for violating Regulation 4 and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

REGULATON 5 – False Information

In a Simplified Hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated the Code of Non-Academic Conduct Regulation 5. The student was found responsible and will receive points and a disciplinary warning. 

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated, Regulation 5 and 6 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for violating Regulation 5 and 6 and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning

REGULATION 9b – Storing Flammable Material

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered student testimony and written documentation. The student was alleged to have violated Regulation 9b of the Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board determined that this was a violation of the code and will receive 2 points.

Student A and Student B did not come to the hearing. Both are charged with statutes 9b and 15. The board found them responsible for both charges. Disciplinary Warning. 

REGULATION 9D – Explosives, Ammunition, Incendiary Devices

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Students A, B, and C violated 9D of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. Student A also violated 13A. The board reviewed documentation and found Students A, B, and C Responsible for violation of 9D and Student A Responsible for 13A. The board recommends a disciplinary warning for Student A, B, and C.

REGULATION 11 - Pets

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations students A and B alleged to have violated regulation 11 of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. Both students pled responsible for the violation, and were found responsible for the violation. The board recommends disciplinary warning for both students.

REGULATION 13a - Drugs

In an Interim Board Hearing, the Board considered allegations that Student A violated, Regulation 13 and 13a of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. The student explained that they consumed both beer and probably some hard alcohol at a party.  The student was aware of the gravity of the situation and was remorseful and disappointed with their behavior. The student also claimed that they paid close attention to their previous session with WesWell but that they consumed too much at the event.  Although the student has been in sessions with WesWell, the Board believes that they need more assistance than the university can provide and for the student's safety, they should serve a short-term suspension to receive counseling for alcohol use.  The Board believes that with the proper care, the student should be able to rejoin the university community in the Fall of 2025.

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Students A, B, C, D and E violated f regulations 13A and 15C of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct. Students A,B,C,D,E provided testimony. Student A was found Not Responsible for violating regulations 13A and 15C, while students B,C,D, and E were found responsible for violation regulations 13A and 15C. The board recommends disciplinary warnings for students B,C,D, and E.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that student A violated regulation 13a of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct.  The board determined that this behavior was a violation of the code of non-academic conduct. The student will receive 2 points and should complete the online marijuana assessment by November 9, 2024. 

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated, Regulation 13a and 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct.  The board found the student responsible for violating Regulation 13a and 15 and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

REGULATION 13b – Underage Possession or Use of Alcohol

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Students A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and I violated Regulation 13B of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct.  

The board found students A, B, C, D, E, F, and G responsible for violating Regulation 13B and found students H and I not responsible and recommended Student A, B, C, D, E, F, and G to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.

REGULATION 14 – Failure to Comply

In a simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that students A, B, C, and D violated, Regulations 14 and 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found Students A, B, and D not responsible for violating Regulations 14 and 15. The board found Student C responsible for violating Regulations 14 and 15. The Board recommended a disciplinary warning and other educational sanctions.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A, B, C, D, and E had violated, Regulation 14 and Regulation 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the students responsible for violating Regulations 14 and 15 and recommended Student A, B, C or all to be sanctioned with Disciplinary Warning.

REGULATION 15 – Department Regulations

In a simplified hearing, the Board considered allegations that Students A, B, C, D, and E violated regulation 15 of the Code of Non Academic Conduct.  The board found all students responsible for violating regulation 15 on grounds of over-capacity and recommended all students be sanctioned with a Disciplinary warning.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A, Student B, and Student C violated Regulation 15- Residential Life Quiet Street policy of Wesleyan University’s Code of Non Academic Conduct.. The board found that all three students were responsible for violating Regulation 15. The students received a disciplinary warning.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Student A violated Regulation 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the student responsible for violating Regulation (15) and recommended Student A to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and points.

In a Simplified hearing, the board considered allegations that Students A, B, C, D, and E violated, Regulation 15 of the Wesleyan University Code of Non-Academic Conduct. The board found the students responsible for violating Regulation 15 and recommended all students to be sanctioned with a Disciplinary Warning and other educational sanctions.
